How does terrablock work?
The TerraBlock is the only shared storage solution that allows you to dynamically change volumes based on your needs. You can change a volume from Single User write to Multi User write and back with a click of a button. Any volume can be assigned Read Only permissions to avoid accidental writes or deletions.
What is a terrablock server?
TerraBlock Server. Logical Volumes When creating a volume the Terrablock server creates the volume in logical pieces. A logical volume may be no more than 1000GB. Thus larger volumes are constructed with more logical pieces. Each logical volume has a second RAID or Mirror piece unless the volume is unprotected.
What is terrablock tools?
The Tools volume is a 1GB Read Only volume in each TerraBlock system and cannot be removed or deleted. It is mounted by default on every fibre connected client workstation. TerraBlock Manager The TerraBlock Manager is used to create and change volumes and users, assign volumes to users, mount, un-mount and update volumes.
Can a client connect to a terrablock without a Fiber Channel switch?
Clients may direct connect to the TerraBlock without the use of a Fibre channel switch. Both the Ethernet and Fibre clients can access the same Multi Write volume at the same time. The TerraBlock is the only shared storage solution that allows you to dynamically change volumes based on your needs.
Does terrablock support additional client software?
Additional Client Software TerraBlock clients can benefit from additional software to aid in the setup of Windows clients. This software is available from the Downloads area of the Facilis web site.
